Strange Times Indeed!

Hello again! Here we are, another month when we should be having another event, we are quietly waiting. Meanwhile our virtual fair continues at https://www.antiques.co.uk/search-results.cfm?priceRange=0-max&criteria=Bibury+Antiques+Fair+2020&sellerType=&searchregion=0&maxrows=25&order=priceDesc Have a look around and make an offer on something and I’ll put you in contact with the dealer. Hopefully there will be some good news to share with you all before too long, but no timescale yet, sorry! Here are a few photographs from some of our previous events. All the best in the meantime, Andy.

Pinch, Punch, First of The Month and No Return!

Hello again all! Do you remember saying that? Maybe you still do. I have just realised, that for those who don’t know, “No Return” meant they shouldn’t hit you back! One day we will return to Bibury for our Antiques Fair. Well, for those who are following our Virtual Fair, it’s still rolling on antiques.co.uk so have a look and see what else has been added since we started. It may be a while until we return, as there are complications in public buildings, and although we can easily do a one way system, we need to wait a little to see how bigger events cope, and maybe we can learn from them, although we are a small venue! This was a stall from one of our dealers a while ago, but it shows we sell a good mix! Please stay in touch, and I look forward to writing more soon! Although it’s a hobby I haven’t done for a while, colleagues of mine are re-opening their business, have a look at https://www.cotswoldarchery.co.uk/ and see if you’d like a go, it can be fun! Regards, Andy.

Seasons Greetings Folks!

Hello all, and best wishes for the Santa Season! Just don’t forget to wear wellies if coming close to here as it’s a bit soggy! I think sledging is out this year, but water skiing maybe in! Wassail, Sliante, Chin Chin, or whatever one’s toast, may be! Here are a few photo’s of Bibury from earlier this year when it was frosty, and also our grey mog Shadow relaxing on her favourite chair! Best wishesfor the season and New Year. See you soon!

Walking Cane

Hello folks, hope you having a good day. Here I have a walking cane (or stick to most folks!), which I saw a similar one ion the television the other day featuring a well known Belgian detective. Here it is, and if you are worried about the ivory tusks, well I made a replacement from antler, which as you know falls off every year as it falls off naturally, and as such I have often used this over the 30 years I have been restoring furniture! Anyway, here are a few photographs, this cane will be on show this weekend at an antiques fair near Banbury, it’s called ” Antiques at the Holt”. Maybe I’ll see you there?

Fair result for October!

Well, last Sunday was our fair in Bibury and we did reasonably well, the weather was excellent despite the forecast and I believe that helped with some sales figures. Shown here are a few quick photo’s of stock that was exhibited there. If you like anything just ask and I’ll try to trace the dealer to see if they have it still, or why not visit us on our last event of the year in Bibury, on November 3rd. That’s most likely when there will be weekend bonfires, jacket spuds and the first of the sloe gin opened if I remember rightly from an event I went to a couple of years ago, see you soon!

Wedding Ceremony Plaque?

Aha! Here we are again. Well, this was photographed at our last event in Bibury, and we are returning there on September 1st. Won’t be long now!

So, just in case you don’t know, this was taken from a piano. Marshall and Rose were early 20th C piano people. There’s lots of info on the internet about them, so I need not redo it. Just thought if someone called Marshall was marrying Rose wouldn’t it be a great for the table plan!

Here it is…….

Hope it makes you smile. Maybe see you soon, perhaps in September, or October, or our final month for this year in Bibury, November!

All the best, Andy
