Nearly there!

Hello! Just a little note to say that Bibury Antiques Fair is on it’s way back! We return to The Village Hall on April 3rd 2022. Not long to wait now then. I’m just checking how all our dealers are and will be in showing a few photo’s of last years events to tempt you to come along and see us, maybe even buy something! We will be opening at 10am and we close at 4pm. Here are a few photo’s of past events so I hope you like them. Bye for now. Regards, Andy.

Roll on September 5th!

Hello all, and just like many people, I’m finding this year has gone so quick in some ways, and so slow in others! However, my good news is that Bibury Antiques Fair is back on Sunday September 5th, from 10am until 4pm. We can be found easily close to the river and near The Church, at the opposite end of The Village from The Swan Hotel, and The Trout Farm. Here’s a few photographs of our recent events. Regards, Andy.

May we begin?

Hello all, here’s a little catch up to say that yes, like many businesses, we hope to return to opening and greeting visitors and clients, old and new soon! Well, at the moment, I am thinking May, or June could well be our initial day at Bibury Antiques Fair, however, this will need to be confirmed by The Hall Trustees and we look forward to greeting you there!

I know there have been a few changes since we last met, and a local tea room has now changed ownership, and the sandwiches at The Trout Farm seem to be getting more famous when I mention Bibury to people! I am guessing by the time we return, The Catherine Wheel Pub, and Swan Hotel should also be open, so maybe I’ll treat myself to a bit of pop after a day at the fair, wonder if anyone can join in then? Cheers! Oh yes, here’s a couple of firescreens just incase they are still needed for “Distancing!” they could be on sale, so please ask if you would like any further information about them, then there’s an armchair to sit on in the sun by the river, happy day! Bye for now, Andy.

Got the keys!

Well, just like someone moving home, here’s a set of new (oldish) keys, clearly two of them are later! They belong to an old walnut desk, and I think the ticket relates to the 1960’s or 70’s, but will research the telephone codes another day. Interestingly, the desk was sold in Bath, and went to Manchester. I am now working on the item, and pleased to have the keys, even though some of the locks appear to have been replaced. The label forms a fun bit of provenance I think! Keys are used to open doors as you know, and we are hoping to be able to open our doors this year. We are due to return to Bibury Village Hall in April, but we will be confirming this as soon as possible, so keep an eye open! Regards, Andy.

New Year Greetings!

Hello all! I don’t feel comfortable saying Happy New Year, but I think Best Wishes is more needed now than in a long time. With the start of 2021 being a little unusual, to say the least, this year will struggle to get back to normal at all. However we do hope to get back in Bibury Village Hall selling antiques and greeting visitors from all over the world, like we have done in the past! Behind the scenes, I have been tidying up a few items of furniture, and yesterday I waxed and buffed a little oak side table, so I thought I’d add a few pictures of it. Other items are being done, so I am catching up on some older projects. Good news there! Bye for now, and here’s the table! Regards, Andy.

Half Way For Virtual Fair!

Hello all! Well, amazingly we are half way through our May Virtual Fair! With help from antiques.co.uk we have had over 40 items listed for sale for just over 2 weeks, and now a few items have been viewed over 100 times. I think that’s more than most items get viewed at an event, and here’s the one which at the rime of writing, is the most viewed, at 106. https://www.antiques.co.uk/antique/Gilt-and-Laquered-Wooden-Monk other items are close behind at 104 and 103. Have a look and see if you fancy anything. There’s a payment option on the site, or please make an enquiry. Sadly not everyone from the fair can take part in this as they cannot access their stock from closed shops and centres, but we have a good cross section of items listed.Have a good day folks, and here are a few photo’s of the event last year. It really is a sweet Village Hall and I look forward to returning one day. Regards, Andy.

Our Virtual Fair is Open Now, and tomorrow, and ……..

Hello all! I have some amazing news. Bibury Antiques Fair may only be a small event, however we believe we are the first Antiques Fair to have a “Virtual Fair”. Yes! With the help of Iain Brunt, and his website, we have our listing at https://www.antiques.co.uk/seller-items.cfm?maxrows=25&seller=4448&order=priceDESC&start=2 have a look and see what you find! This will be live for longer than our usual time, of just one Sunday a month, but we are entering exciting times, and so if you like it, we hope to be able to continue, so please have a puruse and possibly even a purchase! Shown here just to make you hurry, is “A Russian Bangle”. Hope you like it, and thanks for looking. Regards, Andy.

A little background work, and a surprise to come!

Hello again! I realise it’s been a while since I was in touch, but there have been a few things going on in the background, and one of them is this Rosewood Bookcase which I am restoring ready for sale this summer, offer a price if you want to buy it, sadly the marble top is missing, but a wooden one could go on-top, not everyone likes marble! Hope you like the photographs, and yes, there’s still a bit to be done, but it’s a lot better than when I got it! There’s also something else which I hope some of you may well be interested in, and more about that on Friday I hope! Pop back to find out, but in the meantime, here’s the bookcase. All the best, Andy.

Home revision!

Today, April 5th 2020, would have been the first of our fairs at Bibury Village Hall, one day maybe this year we will return? In the meantime, many folk are re-assessing their lives, work, hobbies, and in some cases, looking at what they have! It’s over 30 years ago that I started buying a few reference books to learn about furniture, clocks, and as I like glass, then that too. Here is a little area of my study as it is now, with some of those items, as well as bits and bobs picked up on the way, from friends, all having sentimental value. One day when we return, people will be able to add to their collections, and the items gained will help the times be remembered. Bye for now, Andy.

A little study shelf!

Time Rolls By!

Hello all! Recently I have been getting ready for the fair returning to Bibury, and I have noticed that time keeps whizzing by, but it is nice that the evenings are drawing out. It won’t be long before we will be unloading by the riverside and into The Village Hall. Here’s an item one could see for sale there, a small 8 Day Brass Lantern Clock, hope you like it. Thanks for looking, Andy.
