Pinch, Punch, First of the month! (Again!).

Hello all.

The title was a saying of a dealer many of us used to know, and it’s still around, when I remember! My post today is to remind, or inform about our next event, this Sunday on October 6th in Bibury Village Hall.

Refreshments served by Angela will include panini as the weather gets cooler, and hot sandwich and soup may just well be ideal!

Here is a photograph of a stand a couple of months ago, and who hopes to return to us in the spring. It shows an example of the variety of items we do get. Hope you like it.

Regards, Andy.

One year ago!

Hello! Here is a photograph of the river and The Swan Hotel in Bibury, and behind me the river runs next to the road and goes past The Village Hall, where Bibury Antiques Fair will be on show on Sunday April 1st! Please call in and peruse the lovely show we will have. Maybe a late Easter present for a friend could be found? There will be several Classic Cars on their way for coffee just down the road too, follow one and see where it goes! Happy motoring!

Regards, Andy.

DSC_0198Hello, I have just found a photograph of a stall from last April, and here it is.

April 1st and no joke!

Hello all!

Yes, we return on April 1st, and it’s no joke! Sadly we missed our first event of the year with the weather chaos, and despite me travelling a little that weekend, and not going far, I saw both clear roads and cars being dug out of deep snow all within a few yards, such was the complexity of drifting snow, dry stone walls and five bar gates!

A new stallholder to Bibury, who used to be a regular for a long time at our other events, will be coming, and here are a couple of  insights of some of her stock, as ever a good display will be guaranteed, and if nearby, do call in as we will be a great show this time!

See you soon! Regards, Andy.

I’m off to “Antiques at The Holt!” this weekend.

Morning!

Occasionally over the years, despite running many fairs, I still occasionally have time to be a stallholder at others. This weekend I can be seen with some furniture, tables, chairs, longcase clock, rugs, firescreens, drinking glasses and a fewer small items too.

Pop along if you have time, we are open all weekend, easy to find at the crossroads  at The Holt Hotel, Steeple Aston, Oxfordshire, OX25 5QQ Maybe see you there? These are coming too!

Regards, Andy.

Remember remember the…….. Antiques?!

Hello all!

This weekend is “Fireworks weekend” and on Sunday when the smoke hangs in the early morning misty air, we will be on show at Bibury Antiques Fair in the Village Hall.

We open at 10am and close at 4pm, this is our last event this year, we return in the spring, on March 4th. This website will remain active with a few items for sale so please keep in touch, I hope you will enjoy what I can offer.

Thanks, Andy.

Spooky! We’re back soon!

Hello again. Well, yes, Halloween time is here soon, and we are getting ready to put on a great show for visitors this Sunday, November 5th.

We have a great line up, so if you have the chance, call in to view and maybe buy too! This will be our final show this year, as we will be having a break, to return in March!

I haven’t got a spare coffin for halloween, but this Mahogany Cellerette is at least Sarcophagus shape, and is for sale, with a liner inside with six divisions!

Have a good week and hope to see you soon! Bye for now, Andy.

Tipping the balance?

Hello, I am just weighing things up, as some people say, and now that’s done the dates for next year can be released!

Our next fair at Bibury Village Hall, will be on November 5th, not long to go now. Let’s hope this one goes with a bang, seem to recall someone else said that a few years ago too!

Julie will be with us again and here is a spring balance that I photographed of hers.

Have a good week and I hope to see you soon, don’t forget our visitors book!

Regards, Andy.

The Kitchen Cabinet!

Hello Folks!

Well, this little gem has been hiding in my kitchen for about 5 years or so, and prior to then was a workshop store for handy stuff, such as my part finished models of projects to be made full size, and all the delicate sketches and drawings of future work. When in the kitchen, was full of flour for bread and jars of honey, and some nice old steak knives which should be used more often, for any supper perhaps. Has a single interior shelf. Yes, I should have measured it, I’ll add sizes soon, unless it sells! Please call or email for info.

Well, here it is, an Oak Arched door cabinet with upper drawer. They keys are around somewhere as I had to remove them to wax and buff this prior to photography.

On show on Sunday October the first……..

Anyone remember the saying ” Pinch, Punch, First of the month, and no return!” Maybe I remember it as I was often on the receiving end, “Happy Days!?”.

What’s next?

Hello again!

This coming Sunday there are two new stallholders with us and I rarely know what people will bring, but I do know that after an hour or so of setting up, Bibury Village Hall becomes a place of people displaying their stalls, chatting, drinking tea and coffee and seeing what everyone has brought.

Why not call in during the day to see what we have on offer. I can say that there will be some great cakes, teas and coffee and sandwiches available from noon, so for all those people whom have had great suppers on Saturday, we are an ideal place for a break and a munch! Cyclists and walkers have bought cake to take away before too! Just a thought.

Here’s a fish that may be able to be taken home, and used, not eaten!

Have a good day, Andy.

Ahoy there!

Hello Shipmates!

Here is a small section of a larger painting that is currently for sale, it may be available for viewing on Sunday at Bibury, please call for further information. I’ll try to get to measure the whole, but it is a reasonably large painting. The water levels in Bibury luckily are not capable of us seeing anything like this, so a painting will have to do! The fair is open this Sunday October 1st, from 10am.

Regards, Andy.
