Seasoned Greetings!

Hello All!

As many will be preparing for roasts, many turkey, for a big day coming up soon, I was pleased to photograph these at the November Bibury Antiques Fair, and not being true 100 year old, they are fun, very useable, and quite rare I guess, and so most likely highly collectable.

I remember the “Beefeater” chain of pubs, not sure they were often frequented by me, (just found out they still going!), but these plates were especially commissioned for the chain, I think they are ’70’s (?). Surely many were broken in use, and as such I wonder, and can’t believe are many left in this condition.

Whilst many are preparing other game meals, many are treating themselves to fabulous joints of beef for Santa’s Lunch. Wouldn’t these be fun to use?

Keep in touch and a “Happy Run up to Santa’s eve!”

Regards, Andy.

Tipping the balance?

Hello, I am just weighing things up, as some people say, and now that’s done the dates for next year can be released!

Our next fair at Bibury Village Hall, will be on November 5th, not long to go now. Let’s hope this one goes with a bang, seem to recall someone else said that a few years ago too!

Julie will be with us again and here is a spring balance that I photographed of hers.

Have a good week and I hope to see you soon, don’t forget our visitors book!

Regards, Andy.

The Kitchen Cabinet!

Hello Folks!

Well, this little gem has been hiding in my kitchen for about 5 years or so, and prior to then was a workshop store for handy stuff, such as my part finished models of projects to be made full size, and all the delicate sketches and drawings of future work. When in the kitchen, was full of flour for bread and jars of honey, and some nice old steak knives which should be used more often, for any supper perhaps. Has a single interior shelf. Yes, I should have measured it, I’ll add sizes soon, unless it sells! Please call or email for info.

Well, here it is, an Oak Arched door cabinet with upper drawer. They keys are around somewhere as I had to remove them to wax and buff this prior to photography.

On show on Sunday October the first……..

Anyone remember the saying ” Pinch, Punch, First of the month, and no return!” Maybe I remember it as I was often on the receiving end, “Happy Days!?”.

What’s next?

Hello again!

This coming Sunday there are two new stallholders with us and I rarely know what people will bring, but I do know that after an hour or so of setting up, Bibury Village Hall becomes a place of people displaying their stalls, chatting, drinking tea and coffee and seeing what everyone has brought.

Why not call in during the day to see what we have on offer. I can say that there will be some great cakes, teas and coffee and sandwiches available from noon, so for all those people whom have had great suppers on Saturday, we are an ideal place for a break and a munch! Cyclists and walkers have bought cake to take away before too! Just a thought.

Here’s a fish that may be able to be taken home, and used, not eaten!

Have a good day, Andy.

Ahoy there!

Hello Shipmates!

Here is a small section of a larger painting that is currently for sale, it may be available for viewing on Sunday at Bibury, please call for further information. I’ll try to get to measure the whole, but it is a reasonably large painting. The water levels in Bibury luckily are not capable of us seeing anything like this, so a painting will have to do! The fair is open this Sunday October 1st, from 10am.

Regards, Andy.

Just ticking over!

Hello again.

This week has been an interesting one so far, and one of the projects I have been working on is an oak longcase clock.

Here is the movement just ticking over in the background as the case gets some improvement to the very dirty and more than dusty surface! Sorry, should have mentioned, the movement is signed “Geo Jackson, Gainsbro”

This will be on show at our next fair, October 1st. We open from 10am, and close at 4pm.

Refreshments are available from noon, and I (and several others) really enjoyed the coffee and walnut cake last month!

Call in and say hi, or sign our visitors book, it’s great to see where people travel from.

Regards, Andy.

Weighing up the results!

Hello!

Well, it rained pretty well all day yesterday but this didn’t stop visitors enjoying the fair and buying little treasures to take away. No sooner had I photographed a charming Scandinavian silver salt in the shape of a longboat, someone saw it and it sailed off to a new home.

So, all in all, weighing things up, it wasn’t a bad day! On the subject of scales, here is a set which were on show.

Have a good week!

Regards, Andy.

Watch Out!

Hello and Happy Friday Folks!

Should you have time on Sunday 6th August, and happen to be close enough to visit us in Bibury, Gloucestershire, we will be on show from 10 in the morning, to 4 in the afternoon.

Why “Watch out!” ? Well, just because you may well find a few timepieces, and here are some which most likely will be able to be seen on sale soon! Hope you have a good weekend, wherever you go, but it could be even better in Bibury!

Regards, Andy.
