All White? Probably not!

Hello all.

Well, the bets are on, (or off I think!), for a white Christmas. In case you missed it, there was snow here a few weeks ago and here is a photograph I hope you like, taken just a few hours after daybreak, and as the snow was melting, hardly had time to be enjoyed!

Have a Merry Christmas, and thanks to all visitors and stallholders that have made Bibury Antiques Fair such an enjoyable little fair.

We return in March, and will also be on show on Easter Sunday too, April 1st, and no joke either!

Regards, and best wishes. Andy.

Heard this before?

Hello again everyone!

Summer, and what incredible weather!

As it’s summer, and one Swallow doesn’t make a summer, sadly there are fewer of them every year where I live.

Something else which I haven’t heard for a log time is a Corncrake.

Here is a wooden “Corncrake Call”. Most likely Victorian, but may be earlier, could well be made from Birch or Aspen, or similar woods. Measuring around 3 1/2″ long, easily held in a single hand and used. I have had this a few years now and all I have managed to call to are Magpies and Jays!

Do you think I’m right, or is it a Magpie Call? Pinto mentions them in his books, but that still doesn’t help me see a real Corncrake! Maybe this year?

We will be on show at Bibury Antiques Fair on July 2nd. See you there?

Regards, Andy.

Catching Up!

Hello again!

Well, time has whizzed by and I can’t believe it’s almost a month since we were last at Bibury, and we will be there on Sunday May 7th.

The fair there last month was well attended with interesting stalls, and we have a new addition this month as one of our regular dealers has a break, but will be back in June.

Here are a few sparkles from the last fair.

Hope you like them.

Regards, Andy.
