Thank Someone its Friday!

Well, it’s Friday!

Sunday sees us set up the Bibury Antiques Fair, and I hope the weather is better, otherwise I’ll bring a mop for the floor!

We hope to be a fabulous display that can’t be resisted by visitors, and will always help carry items to cars once bought! Bring a brolly!

Pop in and say hi, hope that you have a good start to the weekend. Here is a photo of one of the stalls last December.

Regards, Andy.

In like a Lion………

The weather seems to be much more friendly today, after ripping a few impressive trees from their roots over the last week or so, so the saying about March coming in like a lion sprang to mind. Although March 1st today, and quieter, we will wait to see what the weather brings us for this coming Sunday, March 5th, when we have our first Bibury Antiques Fair. Open from 10am to 4pm, lunches can be enjoyed at The Swan Hotel, The Catherine Wheel, and The William Morris. Have a great day!

Here is a barometer which will be for sale, and as one can see by the reading, this is quite a low pressure sales pitch!

Pop along and see us in Bibury Village Hall, we have a great selection of dealers selling fabulous stock, most of it a sensible size to take home on the day!

Happy Hunting!

All the best, Andy

Eve’s Return!

Eve returns to us on March 5th, and she is one of the original founders of Bibury Antiques Fair. Eve sells a mixture of silver, jewellery, ceramics, glass etc, and it’s a brave person who doesn’t stop to look at her stall to see what’s there, as I have always picked something up and learnt from her. Last time I saw her Eve had some Icelandic sewing needles for sewing through tough materials, where else can one get those?

Pop along to see what Eve, and others bring to Bibury in less than a week!

Regards, Andy.

Flying High!

Well, today is a lovely day and yesterdays chaos of traffic and trees around here was interesting on some roads. despite seeing many trees down in fields and hedges, I only needed to get out and shift one with a lady infront of me, somewhere near Garsington, easily done so we could all get by, thanks whoever you were!

There were a few buzzards and pigeons looking rather startled, as if they regretted taking to the air!

Here is a picture, which I find fantastic, really a breath of fresh air, and I can almost hear the engine roar as it flies past, I’m sure one of those pigeons was nearly going as fast yesterday!

Recently I heard of someone celebrating their 80th birthday and being allowed to fly over Biggin Hill and Dover, and he even got his original spitfire log book signed from his earlier days! Do you like this Derek?

Here it is (slightly cropped image) for all of us to enjoy! Pop along to Bibury on March 5th, and it should be there!

Regards, Andy.

Picture This!

Bibury Antiques Fair has a varied selection of stock and the dealers that will be there shall be selling lots of different items, here is one.

This is a lithograph of the Church of The Sacred Heart, Hove, and will be on display on March 5th. The signature, I think, is Dorothy L Howarth.

Call into see it, and don’t forget the lovely church just down the road from us too, well worth looking in, and I hope the bells will be ringing, they are great to hear!

Have a nice day!

Andy.

Well, as I have said we return on March 5th!

Eve is joining us, as is Ken, Mandy and John, John, and  another John, for the first time, and Julie again, well, I guess I’ll have to go now, so I’ll bring along some chairs, a couple of mirrors, barometer and a longcase clock, and if I remember, a couple of wine tables!

So, if you called John, why not pop along! See you there!

Here is a glimpse of last December, I’ll add more in the next couple of days!

Bye for now! Andy.

A secondary Reflection!

Hello again!

So, after a change of website addresses, just to catch up to say that he fair will return in March!

Yes! Sunday March 5th, we return to Bibury, and as our previous events, we will be open from 10am to around 4pm, weather and crowds permitting!

There has been a lot of interest in this fair so far it seems, we have had 3 fairs here so far and the news is spreading that we have great customers!

So, please come along and join us,  to make this another enjoyable event, and although a small place. well, someone said that ” Size isn’t everything!” and we do have some fabulous “bits and bobs” for sale! One will only know when one has been to see us and looked properly at the dealers stock.

It may be easy to miss a small village hall, as it’s just tucked away, close to the Church, just a few yards away from the main road through the village. If vintage, antique and collectable items are of interest to you, well pop in and say hi, it may be the years best buy!

“Happy Hunting!”

Andy! Ps! Here is a mirror which will be for sale!
