Hello all! Just a little review here to show what our August Antiques Fair looked like. I have shown a few of the stands, not all of them but maybe this will encourage a visit? We return to Bibury on the 1st of September maybe see you then? Regards, Andy

Flaming June!

Our Bibury Antiques Fair has it’s next showing for this year in just under a week from now, on Sunday June 2nd! We open, as ever at 10am and close about 4pm, as we often have a few visitors around ten past 4, as visitors walk past on their way to their cars to go home. So, last minute deals can be struck, and taken away. Here’s a few photographs of our April event for you to see. There’s only 4 chairs left now, so shout if you want them! The Hall really does look good now it has had a tidy up, the fresh paint and the clean floor make the place quite light and refreshing. Hope that you like them. For those who are wondering, “Flaming June!” was an old saying to refer to the heat of the month, I’m not sure that still stands these days, but maybe we will soon find out! Regards, Andy.

Welcome to a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, and where every moment is an opportunity to make your mark on the canvas of existence. The only limit is the extent of your imagination.

  • Visit us this November 3rd at Bibury Village Hall for our last event of the year before our winter break. Keep an eye out for our spring return. Thank you. Andy.

  • Hello again! Well, how fast the months go! We return to Bibury this coming Sunday July 7th. Although we cannot guarantee the weather, I’m sure it could be a great day, especially if visitors coming to Bibury leave with a treasure, something to remind them of their lovely day by the river, wandering around the…

Bibury Village Hall Refurb

Hello again! I’m pleased to say that the Bibury Antiques Fair is coming back to a recently refurbished space! The walls and stage front have been repainted, and the floor sanded and revarnished, so the whole area is much brighter! So, pop into see us when we return in April, yes, still some time yet, but I do have a couple of small items almost ready to exhibit there, as do some of my colleagues. Here’s a few photographs of the hall, although empty, one can almost smell the new paint! See you soon folks! Regards, Andy.

Bibury Mermaid

Hello again. Here’s a slipware charger, made by Gertrude Baker in 1913. So this year this item becomes an antique, as it’s 100 years old! I wouldn’t be surprised if the metal hanging wirework isn’t almost the same age as the charger. It’s a fabulous piece, but if you look carefully, there could be a mermaid in the local river. Our antiques fair returns to the village hall this Sunday, October 1st, see you there if you get chance. Regards, Andy.

Flaming June!

Hello again, and we are all looking forward to returning to Bibury Village Hall this coming Sunday, June 4th 2023. With the weather being set to fair for some time, we are hoping to have a great day to bring visitors to see us, we do have some fabulous items for sale! As ever, opening at 10am. We are near The Church for those that don’t know the area, and there are signs around for people to follow, get near to “Arlington Row” or “The Church” and you aren’t far away. On show will be many of our regulars and a couple who have only been once before bringing a selection of their ceramics. Here are a few photo’s from our last event. Best wishes, Andy.

September’s here again!

Wow! Autumn feels as though it really is here now as the dampness rises from the fields in the early evening as a wonderful magical mist. However, this is making the evenings cooler, so if you get a chance, call into Bibury Antiques Fair this coming Sunday, 4th September, we are open from 10am to 4pm. My breakfast this morning was Trout, with bread and butter, and Bibury has the oldest Trout Farm in England, and I can recommend it! So, there’s food to buy in Bibury, as well as antiques this Sunday, and if the weather is good, there’s the option of just sitting on a wall and watching the world go by whilst enjoying a coffee from the cafe Twig, or lunch at The Catherine Wheel, or checking out one of the many venues in the area for a future wedding or party! Lots to do near here, and some of the short walks do go through interesting villages nearby, some have pubs along the way too! Naturally, an item from our fair could be a wonderful gift for yourself or a friend, and could bring many happy memories of the day for years to come, so I hope you find something! We are coming to the end of a Bank Holiday weekend, but “Other weekends are available”! Regards, Andy.

“Bowled Over!”

Well, Bibury Antiques Fair is having a break until the spring…….. BUT…….. Should people have time over the weekend of 23rd and 24th November, there’s an antiques fair on at The Holt Hotel, Steeple Aston, Oxfordshire. I’m bowled over, and going to be there again! Oh yes, and I’ll have this Sycamore Dairy Bowl with me, and I think it’s got a good colour and patina, but I’ll have to let you decide if you agree! This bowl is about 12″ in diameter, and 3 1/2″ high. Here it is….. The link for the Holt event is http://www.antiques-at-the-holt.co.uk/ Maybe see you there, and if I remember rightly, the steak sandwiches are very nice there too!

“Book Up!”

Hello Folks!

Just thought I’d slip a quick post in today, and remind people that the Bibury Antiques Fair returns on April 7th 2019.

I’m looking forward to getting back to the Village Hall and having an enjoyable day with people, and to get a few more places into the visitors book.

Meanwhile if anyone wants to learn about Gillows Furniture from Lancaster, my home City, then here is a set of good modern reference books, which are for sale shout if you are interested, as they are a keen price and these are for sale, at around half their official listing price!

Have a good weekend, won’t be long and I hope the sledge runners get polished if anyone happens to be near snow and have a sledge!

All the best for now, Andy.

Hello again!

Just a quick photograph of an oak longcase dial taken as I was adjusting the time, so an hours extra time as many people say, however as its sunny, I’m off to have a short walk in the sunshine, kicking leaves off the paths, just like schooldays!

It’s quite likely that I’ll be taking this clock to Bibury, so if you’re interested  just nudge me and I’ll make sure it’s there. The dial signed Geo Jackson, Gainsbro. A nice 30 hour movement with good sounding bell!

Our last fair this year in Bibury is on November 4th, between 10am and 4pm. Maybe see you there?

Regards, Andy.
